It provides practical, step-by-step guidance on recognising and protecting Protected Health Information (PHI), identifying visual and verbal privacy risks, and supporting the rights of individuals whose data we handle.

You’ll learn how to apply privacy and security principles in your daily role, whether communicating with colleagues, storing data, or supporting Smartbox customers who use assistive technology. The course also explores how to spot and report potential breaches, understand the role of the Privacy Officer, and follow correct escalation procedures.

Through realistic examples and interactive case studies, you’ll practise making ethical and compliant decisions when handling sensitive information. You’ll also gain insight into the consequences of non-compliance, including reputational and legal risks, and the importance of maintaining a culture of privacy and trust across Smartbox.
